It's often said, "a boat owners best day is the day he buys the boat, the second best day is the day he sells the boat". This is very true for us, but not for the sake that the boat is sold, but who we sold it too. ODYSSEE has moved 5 docks to our west and rechristened DISTANT ISLAND LADY. The new owners are neighbors and good friends, 20 years younger than we are, and full of enthusiasm. We're watching them paint the deck, build a new boarding ladder, and spruce up parts of the boat that were getting a little tired. We're excited that they are so excited to start cruising.
We love the smile on Joanne and Richard's faces as they pass our dock heading down Distant Island Creek to Chowan Creek, to the ICW.
Expect to run into them along the waterways of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida the next couple of years, and maybe on the Loop in 3 years or so. This old Hat is definitely up for it at least one more time around on her 1971 8V53 Detroits, those old power plants crank and run every time you push the start button.
HAVE FUN GUYS!!!
